I agree with the previous comment the car must be a 1958. The reason is pre 1959 did not have a trunk lid but prior to 1958 they had a three piece rear window which the car in the photos appears to have a one piece glass. Also based on the taillight lenses it must be an late 58 as it has red lenses there was a mid year change from amber to red. I own four of these great little cars they are a blast to drive! I have a 54,57,58 and a 59. |

I looked at the photos again and have determined that this car is built from a variety of parts from different years as it has vent "wing" windows which did not come out until 1959. The main body of the car is pre 1959 but newer than 1956 and it could have had the rear glass switched to a single piece window. I guess it is a Mutt of sorts but I wouldn't throw it out of my garage. I like the choice of paint colors. |

Trivia entry on imdb page says it's a '56. Who knows if that's correct. |

Well, if we stick with a 1958 listing, we need to delete "Nash" since the final Nash was the 1957 model. This should be simply listed as "Metropolitan". |

I remember hearing this was one of weird Al's own personal vehicles, but who knows. it would make sense though. |

I always thought Weird Al would drive an Edsel. |
