The second generation of the Pajero/Montero/Shogun appeared in 1991, but began its US career for the 1993 model year.

There are better pictures of this vehicle in the beginning of the movie.

A big plus for the prop crew - the plates are an excelent replica of those used in Belgrade, Serbia. Even more, the Pajero itself was a very popular car among mobsters during the war period in the early 90s. I didn't like the movie, but I have to admit they did some quality research.

The number is BG 000-00, so I imagine that the plate is a sample made in Serbia. The other cars have replicas of the post-war Bosnian plates introduced in 1998 and the road sign is completely wrong, isn't it?

As much as I can see, the number is actualy BG 900-007. I've noticed the post-war Bosnian plates, but I was surprised they got our plates right. Now about the sign, if Tuzla is direction forward, then Zvornik should be direction right, and Sarajevo left, not vice versa. I don't expect the Americans to know the exact location of any Balkan city, because, frankly, I've seen far worse mistakes (Sniper 2, for instance).

Not as far as I can see very good ones. The BiH plates in use at the time of filming (and which I remember from a visit to Banja Luka in 2000) used the old German DIN font.

Actually, I meant that the design of the road sign was wrong (font, colour, etc.). As far as I remember, Bosnian signs look or looked more like this (the example is from Croatia; I couldn't find one from Bosnia, but it fits what I remember).

True...my gram's been a real Pajero aficionado. In the past she's had a red '83, a blue '94 2-door and a green 4-door (?)

Her current one is a black 2006 Pinin. ;)

By the wheels this can only be a 3.0 V6 [V43W] as the 3.5 V6 [V45W] did not carry these.
