Chevrolet Impala from the late-1970's? |

1979 Chevrolet Impala Estate? |

Well it is a Chevrolet Impala Estate, I agree. As for the years, I say 1977-1979. |

By the front sidemarker and thick trim at the rocker panel, I would say that is 1977/78 Chevrolet Caprice Classic with the grill replacement. Comments? |

I don't think "Impala Estate" is correct, since this is the only vehicle on the site with that designation. |

I thought the "Estate" part indicated a model with woodgrain siding for Chevy. |

Yes, the 'Estate' part is the optional package that includes faux woodgrain which was introduced in 1977 model year until 1990 for the Chevrolet Caprice Classic series. |

Not 1977. The 1977 Impala was unique in that the turn signals were directly below the headlights but above the bumper, and it was the only year for which this grille/headlamp/indicator style was offered. On the model pictured above, the indicator lamps are below/in the bumper housing, which means that this is a 1978 or 1979 model. |

It is really a mongrel mix here. This is actually a 1977/78 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Wagon with the 1979 Impala grille. |
