@Lateef - What makes this a 1990-1993?? The plate "DNG" would indicate mid-1988 registration. 1990+ models had painted mirrors, while this one has black mirrors. Also, in the rear view we can see that this car has no third brake light, which was mandated in Australia in mid-1989: So I am now confident this is in fact a 1988 300 CE (this was the first year for the coupe in Australia after the sedan went on sale in 1986). Interestingly, this one has been debadged, which is odd because it wasn't really a thing back in those days. These 2-doors are very rare in Australia - only about 10 a month were sold throughout it's life. In 1992, a low of only 72 were sold (6 per month), mostly due to the recession at the time. Sales peaked at 172 in 1995, due to the facelift, introduction of the convertible model, and cheaper 4-cylinder E220. Pricing in 1988 was $129,700, rising to $150,000 in 1991 and $168,000 by 1993. -- Last edit: 2018-12-22 01:29:05 |

For 1990 MY the side boards on the door were added, at least on the European and American models |

Only for sedans. Coupes always had the side boards: /vehicle_556806-Mercedes-Benz-300-CE-C124-1988.html 1988 AU model: Link to "www.shannons.com.au" 1989 AU model: Link to "liveimages.carsales.com.au" Even in USA: 1989 US model: Link to "www.peachparts.com" -- Last edit: 2014-09-24 12:51:24 |
