Maybe that they put "white" when they cannot chose, or that the car was delivered unpainted/white and that the owner made it paint with a special color? Or that it was just repainted several years later. -- Last edit: 2006-08-13 12:59:05 |

Yes, my best guess is it could have been re-sprayed white if used as a wedding or hire-car later in its life. |

But 1980 was not the year of manufacturing. It's a Cloud I /II (1955-1959 - 1959-1962/63), so the plate have changed hands after filming ? |

I'd rather say that they have put the plate of another Rolls-Royce. -- Last edit: 2006-08-13 16:32:09 |

WED 590 is obviously a cherished number (vanity plate). Probably the producers hired the Rolls from someone who hires out cars for weddings, and in the intervening eighteen or so years the owner has moved the plate onto another Rolls. -- Last edit: 2006-08-13 19:45:25 |

One of my own cars had the plate 759 ELY when in Britain. The car is now in since the 1990's with me in Germany but I can still find the plate via the DVLA homepage registered for a (now another) Rolls-Royce... Seems that it brings good money to sell plates in UK... WED590 is very obviously a plate of choice for a wedding hire business -- Last edit: 2006-08-16 20:07:45 |
