In West Germany since 1978/79 until ca.1981/82. It was, together with the Camaro, a try by GM to put a foot on the German market. These two models are the only one, which were offered officially by GM, so via bigger Opel-dealers. All other US-made GM-cars had been private imports or were imported by a special personal order of a Opel-dealer, who had a purchaser for that. |

Faked plate. a) no TÜV-sticker b) no historic plate (a regular regisration for any bigger car, older than 30 years, would be for tax reasons absolute idiotical, if you don't have a irretrievably ancient plate, which you want to preserve). c) This is not Russia. Over here we can get plates in smaller sizes for US-cars. Sometimes in the exact US-size, but often those, sized for 80 ccm-motorbikes or tractors. |

@ ingo The Malibu was as well available from '79 onwards. Got an old "Auto Motor & Sport" issue of late '78 with a special of US cars availble in Germany. Compared to the 90's and now, there was a huge range available. |
