http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1059969/trivia How a 1990s Dacia got to South Africa is a bit of a mystery - perhaps it was brought in for some other film. Or did someone try to sell them there? @ingo: The number plates are crap too. -- Last edit: 2012-01-12 13:04:27 |

Were Dacias originally made as RHD or it's a local conversion? |

Earlier Dacias were made with RHD and sold in UK, but imports stopped before revised bodywork introduced. |

I just spotted a facelifted, right hand drive Dacia 1307 in Malta on Flickr, so an RHD facelifted 1310 is possible. Link to "www.flickr.com" P.S. Here's a facelifted right hand drive 1310 estate in Malta: Link to "www.flickr.com" -- Last edit: 2013-04-14 23:27:23 |

I was looking at some models and found this rather unknown badge 'Dacia Cristal'; it appears in some South African Autotrader listings, so it could be a model made for South African export. Is there a rear view of the movie car? -- Last edit: 2016-08-04 10:28:48 |

Checked, but the badge on the left is missing - also 1.6L? Strange. -- Last edit: 2016-08-04 11:13:55 |

Looks like they indeed used this name, and it had a 1.6L engine Pics taken from South African spare parts websites. Other export names used by Dacia in South Africa: Dacia Elan (single cab bakkie) Dacia Magic (double cab bakkie) -- Last edit: 2016-08-04 11:28:11 |
