Registration details say it's a GLXi trim (meaning 1.8L instead of 1.5L), and a 4-speed automatic. Weird - this car has two different tail-lights - one facelift and the other pre-facelift. Despite ending production in 2002, nearly 18 years ago, there are still almost 50,000 of these CE Lancers registered in Australia as of 2020. Due to having a 1.8L engine, the code is [CK5]. The 1.5L sedans (only sold from 1996-1999 in Australia) went by the [CK2] code. Coupes used CJ2/CJ5 instead. VIN: JMFSRCK5AXU002043 -- Last edit: 2022-08-22 08:00:30 |

Maybe it has had a previous accident, and been repaired on the cheap? |

Considering the year this takes place in (circa 2010-11), any car wrecker would likely have a large selection of both types of tail lights, and the difference in cost of buying one over the other would be negligible. If this took place 10 years earlier, then I might buy that parts are scarce/expensive. -- Last edit: 2014-01-01 07:19:43 |

Maybe it had been repaired a couple of years ago? I assume they just buy what cars they need cheap from dealers/carsales/etc, so they may have just got it how it is... |
