Again, this one is definitely a Ford Cortina Estate (Mk5).

For the European Ford sometimes the name changes between UK and France. You are sure that it was sold as Cortina?

I agree that it is a Cortina. The Granada is the next larger car from Ford.

In Germany this one is known as "Taunus", the last version before the "Sierra" entered the market.

I'm as sure as I can be that it is a Cortina. As Alexander said, it was sold in Germany as the Taurus. The Granada was a different car altogether.

And in France is it a Taunus or a Cortina? :??:

My guess is that it´s a Taunus in France, I´ve found some sales brochures in french for the Taunus and none for the Cortina of the same model. I think Cortina only sold in UK after they became identical with the Taunus in the mid seventies. In Sweden we had Cortina Mk III the first years when it was almost identical with the Taunus (1971-73) after that it disappeared along with britishbuilt Escorts and Capris, we only recieved their germanbuilt sisters. It was the same at General Motors with Opel and Vauxhall, when they became more and more identical the Vauxhalls disappeared from our market.

Now even I have noticed that this film plays in France and not in the UK :-)
I was slightly deceived by the Mini and cars parking on the left side of the road...

Here is a link that shows that in fact it is a Ford Taunus TC3 (1979-83).

Next to the Taunus we have an Austin Mini, old version with 10" wheels, behind it a Talbot (??) and at the front a Mercedes-Benz 207 van.

Now I´m gonna be a little picky again, this model is from 1980 and onwards. Though released on the market during fall of -79. I owned one back in 1990.

I agree with Alexander, it´s probably a Talbot 1510 or Simca 1307/1508 behind the Mini, from this angle it could be either of them. Behind that one I think we have another Taunus, probably a 1971-75 (TC1). And at the end of the street it looks like a fintail Mercedes.

not much later than 1980 since the movie was made in 1981 :D

In the Swiss market (German, French & Italian brouchures) it was sold as the Ford Taunus.

I think the car behind the Mini is a later model Fiat 131 like in this film : /vehicle_4619-Fiat-131-Supermirafiori-1981.html

It is the same film, and maybe the same car actually :D

Taunus and Cortina were different cars until 1974. From 1975 onwards (Taunus II/Cortina MKIV), they were identical, apart from the location of the steering wheel and controls. From then on, the essentially same car was sold as a Taunus in left hand drive markets, as a Cortina in right hand drive markets.
