nzcarnerd ◊ 2009-06-26 09:01	It is unlikely that this is a real 1906 Renault GP car as that car no longer exists. It is possible though that it could be one of the GP replicas built in 1907 which used the 7.4 litre motor of which there is at least one survivor - although that car is red. It is just as likely to be 'made for movie'.
nkap1469 ◊ 2012-05-17 02:17	I vaguely recall reading an article somewhere that briefly stated that this car, and possibly a few others, was built from an old Rolls-Royce chassis to look like a Renault racecar. I assume it's a similar, if not the same case for the red Fiat-looking car too, as the lower details of the two cars look very much alike, although I only remember a Renault in particular being mentioned. I hope this helps. All of the racecars in the opening of this movie are very fascinating.
