It’s a GM rounded-line, in either pickup or utility form. The sloped laminated windshield with imbedded hidden radio antenna is one giveaway. That particular fluid reservoir for the four-wheel hydraulic power assisted brakes is also native to rounded-lines. The front portion of the frame is also visible. The high tensile-strength carbon steel ladder-type "C" channel frame with "drop center design" was developed along with the rounded-line generation in the mid-to-late '60s. It remained virtually unchanged throughout the rounded-line generation’s lifecycle. It was an impressive piece of engineering (for its time) with high linear rigidity. The front bumper support struts are missing, they appear like "canards", jutting out from the front of the frame. It has the redesigned hood hinges that accompanied the 1981 model facelift which included an all-new hood. The upper control "A" arm for the independent front suspension (IFS) is visible so it’s two-wheel drive. |
