Looks like an Austin Healy 100-6 (BN-4), built from 1956 - 1959. The body is very similar to the later 3000 series cars, but the wheels, bumpers, trim etc. are all a little smaller and more delicate looking. The engine is a 90 hp inline 6. The 3000 series cars, known as the "Big Healy's", were built from 1959 -1967 in Mk I, Mk II, and Mk III trim. The engines ran from 110 hp in the Mk I cars to 150 hp in the Mk III cars. |

I think 100/6 only had single line boot badge as Link to "www.secondchancegarage.com" while 3000 Mk1 had double as http://classiccars.brightwells.com/image.php?id=989&show=6 , so this should be 3000 and a 2-seater BN7. |

The 100/6 Healey had externally only a different bonnet, the 3000 flash on the grille also identifies the model. It is an early example, later called a Mk I, circa 1960. A common mistake during a respray was mounting the wing trim on the wrong side, as on this car. It is also not a standard colour, mine was similar but I changed it back to Colorado red. I also had a 1967 BJ8, which was a much more refined version. |
