the picture is about the black ou the white?
Black... US sedan or old Volvo (just a guess)
White... not Taunus, I think... a Borgward? Goliath?

Is "Phase III" the same as a "Series III", or is it something else? I ask that because we have few Standard Vanguard with "Phase" and others with "Series" (and two 1952 model, one is "Phase I" and the other "Series I")

The Standard Vanguard came as
- Vanguard Phase I (1948-53)
- Vanguard Phase II (1953-55)
- Vanguard Phase III (1955-58)
- Vanguard Sportsman (1956-58)
- Ensign (1957-61 + 1962-63)
- Vignale Vanguard (1958-62)
- Vignale Vanguard Six (1960-63)

While the Phase II was a face-lifted Phase I, the Phase III was a completely new vehicle. All those following were in fact Phase III with various trim and engine levels.

BTW, the car where the version naming has gone haywire is the Hillman Minx:

So "phase" is a kind of "mark", and I could rename the "series" to "phase"?

Yes, in this case.
