This is the 1971 limited-production and pretty rare SC-1 Station Wagon as told by the Butterscotch Gold paint, with black rally stripes. Nice Find! Now if we could only get a Hurst Jeepster on the site... -- Last edit: 2011-10-19 13:19:45 |

According this answer in Link to "forums.off-road.com" (scroll down near the end of the page) "There is a shiny Hurst Jeepster complete with decals and white sidewalls in the movie "Harold and Maude". The movie was dated 1972, which means it was probably a brand new 1971 model when captured on film." /movie_67185-Harold-and-Maude.html but in the pics the only Jeep submitted has been identified as /vehicle_111387-Jeep-Jeepster-Commando-C101-1967.html |

Well the Hurst was only made for the 1971 model year and there were only about 100 of them made, so it is extremely rare. The Jeepster captured is not the Hurst but i haven't seen the movie to see if there is another Jeepster in it. The Hurst Jeepster is easy to recognize from other Jeepsters by the standard hood scoop and Red/blue rally stripes. They also only came in the hard top Station Wagon bodystyle. Here is what the Hurst Jeepster looks like: This example has unoriginal wheels/tires and front bumper but you get the idea. |

Thanks tonka. I'll pay attention if I rewatch "Harold and Maude". |
