So is it a 1969, or a 1970-non-yenco ?

Nightrider RU

actually, this model was launched in 1968 and '69 and '70 models don't have any significant tech differences and same design. Anyway I suggest to consider car as real Yenko.

The car really is a genuine Yenko Deuce Nova, the car used in the film was for sale recently

This is a 1970 Yenko Nova. If you have seen the movie: The hood stripes and lightning side stripes that go around the side and onto the trunk lid are what date it, along with the 'DEUCE' written across the front of the hood. in addition, the car appears to be correct: in the movie, you briefly see the interior and it does have the sYc logo on the headrests and the correct wheels. In the picture above, you can see the hood stripes and 'DEUCE' on the hood, and the right F-70-14 tires and wheels.

In 1969 Don Yenko released a 427 big block Nova that had side hockey stick stripes and a foward facing arrow on the hood. In 1970 he released a small block LT1 Yenko Nova equipped with a high revving 350 cu in. motor. The two white stripes on each side of the hood reach back to the cowl and say "LT/1 350" on them.

There were no 1968 Yenko Novas, but there were the COPO Novas that ran with 396s that year. The 396 was also available in SS trim for 1968 and 1969. in 1970, the 396 designation was kept for marketing purposes, and a hange was made to use a 402 cubic inch big block, also available in SS trim.

Baldwin-Motion and Nickey were two more dealers that were also creating high performance versions of these cars as well during these years.

Someone please edit the photo caption to say 1970, not 1969.

Just as an update to the Nova Yenko Deuce lookers; this car was not a real Deuce, but a clone. It started life as a 1971 Nova, fitted with a real LT1 motor and all the driveline goodies. It was black, which no real Yenko Deuce was ever painted that color. How do I know all this? I owned this great car and enjoyed the ride. I bought from the previous owner who bought from the movie auction. Car has since been sold with all its documentation.

this car here is a 1970 chevy nova yenko deuce 350. the strips on this car were only avalable in 1970 on the nova. if it was a 1969 the stripes would be closer to the center and fatter, and the "deuce" on the hood would be in an arrow. the stripes for the 1969 nova were also avalable on the chevelle and camaro in the yenko version.

That isn't a '70 Yenko, it's a clone built from a '71. It does have the LT1 350 and Rock Crusher 4-speed with a 12 bolt rear. A friend of my brother's just purchased the car and it IS NOT a '70.

Here's the car in question, by the way.

I bought the black and white Yenko Deuce Nova used in "The Ialian Job" movie from JP's Mucle Cars in August 2008. I have spent over a month documenting the car. I have one title transfer paper before the movie. The name on the title trnsfer is Doreen Carpenter, She has worked with Jon Carpenter nad Shane Greedy ( the Transportation Captain for "The Italian Job") on many movies. I also have all the title transfers since the movie. I have talked to all of the previous owners except Doreen Carpenter and the individual in Okonnee. When the movie sold off assets, it sold the car to a dealer in Highland , CA (LA) Since then The car has been sold in auction two times in California. It has been shipped from Los Angeles to Wagner's in Bonner Springs Kansas. I have pictures of it in their showroom. An individual from Gig Harbor, Washington bought the car from Wagner's in 2004. After a year , he put it on consignment with Memory lane motors in seattle. An individual from Namba, Idaho bought the car and kept it for about one year. He sold it via the enternet to and individual in Statham, GA. That individual sold it to person in Okonee, GA who sold it to JP's Muscle Cars in Monroe. I have over 25 pages documenting the car as the real car that was driven by Handsome Rob in the movie. If you have never seen the car in person you have missed something special. It was one of the best body off restoration you will ever see. All of the running gear, interior, and engine compartment is 1970 Yenko Deuce Nova. It has been parked side by side with a real Yenko Deuce Nova and you can not find any differences between the cars. It is true that an extremely excellent 1971 Nova was the donor car for this recreation or tribute car. No Yenko Deuce Nova was painted black. The paint is as slick as you will ever see: inside, outside, engine,or under. If you check out the NMCA Nationals at Commerce, Georgia (car show) last month you will see that it won the Director's Choice Award (event Winner). When you start the engine, The forged pistons, solid lifters, and exhaust will take you back in time. The car is so powerfull it will not hookup on the 7 inch period tires. This car has been driven about 1200 miles since Doreen Carpenter sold it in 2003. it has been shipped or trailered for over 6,800 miles. From now on it will be driven to events. This car was meant to be driven. Hopefully, with some new slicks in the back I will post some great time later on. It is a 1970 Yenko Deuce Clone but one of the best you will ever see. I am still looking for the shop or person who did the restoration on this car. If you know, please let me know.

How can you tell by this picture alone? I mean, I love this car too, but apparently I don't know sh*t about it compared to you...

This page should be updated. Several member in this site mentioned that this is 1971 model year and does corresponds to amber front indicators.
