I think that too: in the large picture the script of the badge looks quite long and makes me think there's write GTi but apparently it's called GSi |

It's a 1992 420 GTi, the only Rover 420 sold in Italy, and it was very rare. There were many more 416 GTi. |

Can pin it down further as 420 GSi Sport (spoiler, 5-spoke alloys, flared bit in front of rear arch) Nov 91 - Oct 92 only as all GSi got smoked rear lenses and the Sport got 7-spoke alloys for 93+my. So a rare version, especially outside UK. Our next challenge - find a 420 GSi Sport Turbo from Oct 92 onwards. |

So GTi = Italian name for GSi Sport?? We've had recent discoveries of 800 Coupes and others having Ti name not used in UK, so some context. And if it's a 93my, it doesn't have the UK-spec smoked effect rear lights. |

Can be a late registration? Not sure if we got smoked rear lights on sedans/hatches, it's to check  anyway possibly our 416 GTi/420 GTi were UK GSi/GSi Sport? -- Last edit: 2022-09-01 17:17:20 |

That's my guess for a 92my; also it has 5 spoke alloys (became 7 for 93) and the grey lower cladding which was deleted during 92. |
