They cheated in the movie, they made it look like a continuous scene, but by advancing frame by frame you see the cut Well, I will split the pictures and keep the BMW on this page. |

I'm not sure, but I would say a 1500. It seems to be the only BMW available in 1966 that would have a front matching to these one. -- Last edit: 2006-07-26 00:17:50 |

The 1500 was sold through 1964, but this is probably a 1963-66 (when film was made) BMW 1800 : http://homepage.mac.com/frank_de_jong/Media/1965/BMW%201800%20TISA%201965 |

No chrome around the body, so it is a 1500/1600 or 1800 ti. Considering this one was available from february 1964, and it is a 1965 rally scene, 1800 TI is a reasonnable option |

@bref is this sure, this picture is from rally Monte Carlo? (65 or 66) |

Lelouch had the idea of the film in september 1965. So the film was realised after september 1965. In the film, Jean Louis left Anne for a rally in Monte Carlo. According to that and the weather condition, we can think that he is talking of the Monte Carlo rally. We know that in Lelouch films, some actions are real rally action. That's all I know. Unfortunately I don't have Maurice Louche book on Monte Carlo rally and don't have too the list of entrants. |

There were lots of BMW 1800s (including TI and TI/SA on 66 Monte. Slotemaker's car #231 was a dark colour - http://rallyemontecarlo1966.a.r.f.unblog.fr/files/2011/10/231-Slotemaker-BMW-1800.jpg , most others were grey/white eg /vehicle_745059-BMW-1800-TI-SA-1966.html and German plates - eg /vehicle_745057-BMW-1800-1964.html .
