I don't agree completely. As far as I know Ariane was released only in April 57. So that, if a taxi driver used a large Simca before that, it had to be with the Aquillon V-8 engine.

Meanwhile, I have no way to grant that there was one Simca Vedette taxi before 1957, but it may be possible.

Agreed, no doubt that few taxis could have use the V8 engine Simca, as they used the Ford Vedette before. But for a big company like the G7 the cost of operating the V8 while the production of cheaper cost 4 cylinder engine had started is unlikely. In fact G7 ordered Simca Ariane since 1957 in replacement of older Panhard Dyna [Z] fleet.
