Judging from rear fender rubber stone gravel guard and chrome trim it is a 1947 or 1948 Ford DeLuxe Tudor Sedan ( ( body type 70 A) |

Was that shield different in 1946? |

On 1946 Fords there was a slight gap between the upper part of the gravel guard shield and the rear fender trim srip.On 1947 and 1948 Fords ,the upper part of the gravel guard reached the rear fender trim strip as can be seen here. Reason was the difference in trim strips :on 1946 Fords they were thinner and ribbed in their center , on 1947/48 Fords they were somewhat thicker, unribbed and located slightly lower |

Looked closely at my Burness illustrations and by golly you're right. Never noticed that slight variance before. (I learn something new here every day.) -- Last edit: 2011-08-18 14:58:18 |
