Well, locations for this movie were UK only. So I think it's less probably a Fageol and more probably something built on the base of some UK/European bus or (less probable) a UK/European furniture truck. Perhaps Dennis (Dart?) or MAN? Additionally, the front end of this one doesn't look rounded enough in comparison to the Fageol FVL / Twin Coach shown at Hank's Truck Pictures. |

I agree with 'mm', but for me this is most likely a British vehicle, a special purpose body built on a standard bus or truck chassis. A furniture van is possible but the louvered panels, roof mounted rail and general body style and livery make me think of either a television outside broadcast or film production unit. It could even be a vehicle owned by the actual movie production company. If it is a custom built van, it's unlikely without seeing the front, that the chassis manufacturer could be identified. |

This looks like it in almost all the details that I can see..... I believe this identifies it. Albion Clydesdale Chassis - BBC Television outside broadcast van... ![]() edit: links updated and added http://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p527841107/h1d2104a7#h1d2104a7 http://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p527841107/h1d2104a7#h1e90b40c http://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p527841107/h1d2104a7#hb209d2f -- Last edit: 2011-12-24 16:41:48 |

You only have to say the words...... "unlikely without seeing the front, that the chassis manufacturer could be identified." and you find a picture, without searching for it..... now that looks familiar. ![]() -- Last edit: 2006-09-08 16:47:26 |

As you found the exact name 'Albion Clydesdale CD21FXLW', why not use it? |
◊ 2006-09-09 10:31 |
I believe CD21FXLW is the complete long version of the chassis code and not part of the model name. So representing CD21 - Clydesdale type 21, FX - Maximum Weight, LW - Long Wheelbase. Not added because chassis codes are not currently specified for Albion trucks. If we were to show the chassis code I suppose the shortened [CD21] would be helpful and its possible with more accurate information we could add others for Albion, [RE29] for Reiver, [CH13] for Chieftain for example. |

This one is evidently still in BBC livery, but with the signwriting painted over. |

There were initially nine type 2 Colour Mobile Control Rooms plus another which was used a 'demonstrator' by Pye and then bought by the BBC. 'AMU 418H' is actually in preservation as Ex-BBC Type 2 Colour Mobile Control Room "CMCR9 North 3". ... http://www.vintageradio.co.uk/htm/tvprojects2a.htm http://www.vintageradio.co.uk/htm/tvprojects3.htm http://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p527841107/h1d2104a7#h1e90b40c The vehicle details for AMU 418H are: Date of Liability 01 10 2012 Date of First Registration 11 12 1969 Year of Manufacture 1969 Fuel Type HEAVY OIL Vehicle Colour GREY |
