Ford Taunus Coupe (model/type P7b)

the model P7a was more 'angular'.

It's probably a 17M. As far as I remember the 20M/26M had chrome strips on the side.

Sorry, but the P7 wasn't named Taunus, just 17 M or 20 M. A 26 M had existed, too.

You're right.
Probably I got carried away ;) my dad had such a car :miam:
As the P7 was seen as the next in line in the P3, P5-series (which had the name Taunus) people often called the P7 also "Taunus"

Note that it's RHD in several shots - eg /vehicle_419143.html - with what appears to be taped-on trade number plates. What country are we in - it usually has lots of British cars in those shots and is driving on left?

These scenes were filmed in Kenya.

Noted in passing which might explain why a not-Taunus appears in Kenya - one of them won the 1969 East African Safari (driven by local pairing Robin Hillyer & Jock Aird) but was LHD with Cologne registration.

Another ZA-built P7b to give it a friend. World Cars 1971 and 1972 editions lists ZA assembly of 17M and 20M in 1969-70 - I don't have 1970 or 1973 editions to pursue further.
