Used in a brief sequence showing a parallel world where the US is under a fascist régime. |

It seems to have been made in South-Africa (according to IMDB). |

It is only in 1985 that they started to rebrand the cars under the "CXA" make. Cf /vehicle_3486-Citroen-CX-1980.html I think that before that they kept the "Citroën" make even if it was unofficial. And CXA seems to still imports few cars, but one by one, on the request of buyers http://citroen.mnoplatform.nl/showroomrecentsales.html C3 Pluriel, C5, 607... |

If it was built (assembled) in South Africa, it is probally a later model than 1975, usually it took some years before they started producing models outside France... |

they produce Citroen in South Africa? |

They assembled the DS, GS and also the CX for some time overthere.... So not really producing, but shipping in the parts and putting them together locally... As Citroën did in more countries (Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, etc) -- Last edit: 2006-07-22 15:11:45 |

sorry for asking again, have they any local specificities in comparison with french mades? |
◊ 2006-07-22 15:25 |
Yes, they have. But it is hard to say what the exact differences are. They vary from year top year, model to model and country to country. In some cases it is only minor technical adjustments. In Australia and South Africa, cars where usually adjusted to the rougher roads they travel. Things you can expect, are airconditioning, airfilter protection, extra protection underneath the engine, for CX and GS usually quad headlights, and some other small details. Some of the SciFi channels’ mini series "The Triangle" may have been filmed in South Africa, but some of it was also filmed in parts of Miami (Florida) and Key-West (Florida) as the "Seven Mile Bridge" was used for the bridge that the cars disappeared on while traveling across it. |

The story is set in and around Miami, so the bridge is meant to be recognisable as the Seven Mile Bridge. It's probably some combination of computer graphics, photography of the real bridge and live action elements filmed in Cape Town. -- Last edit: 2006-12-03 02:04:26 |
