Imo I think it's only a dressed up Caprice, too blacked out |

Looks like all the proper Impala SS parts are there, save the rear fender script and factory wheels... |

This is a '93 or '94 Caprice dressed up to look like an SS. You can tell by the rear quarter glass, as it is missing it's BMW-esque "Hofmeister kink". In 1994 there was a triangle shaped spacer with the Impala logo on it mounted in conjunction with the quarter glass, which had one corner lopped off. This wasn't a plastic trim that went over the glass itself. 1994 Caprices used the old style glass. In 1995 all Impalas and Caprices had their quarter sheetmetal modified to accept the different shaped window. It is possible that the Impala rear quarter glass was removed along with the spacer and standard Caprice glass was added, but coupled with the fact that this car has the standard Caprice ride height (higher than SS), 1991-94 mirrors, no Impala emblem over the trunklid, no door spears (rub strips) no bright trim around the windows, and no black above the headlight lenses like Impala SS cars have, it's incredibly unlikely that is the case. Looking through the windshield, you can just barely tell it has the pre 1994 dashboard in it too, so it's probably a '93 Caprice. |
