We have three Countrymans listed, two as "hatchback" and one as "wagon". I thought they were SUVs? |

They aren't really SUV's. Cross-over is the best word. For example the Nissan Juke, Kia Soul or Toyota Urban Cruiser. All Countrymans are the same. But not all of them are 4-wheel drive and there also is a sport version, called 'Cooper S'... and a rally-version. |

But, doesn't Mini market these as crossovers? (in agreement with JENSDONT) I mean, if they're crossovers, they should be listed as SUV's, because there's no crossover classification. |

Well, 4WD is an option for the Countryman. Of course it´s a crossover, but unfortunately there´s no crossover classification, as you´ve said. I´m not an admin, but I think it´s quite a lot of work to introduce a new classification. |

What's the link with 4WD? Lots of true SUV are not 4WD anyway. And the category is "SUV / Off-road", that could include cross overs too. As I said earlier, it is mostly to separate vehicles for searches, it is not useful to differentiate crossovers from SUV & off-road... |

But it would be useful to separate SUV and Off-Roaders. The differences are too big to let both in one category. A real Off-Roader is something total different than a trendy lifestyle-toy with a bit higher suspension and plastic-junk on sills and wheel arches.  |

What would be the use of that? In the same way targa and convertibles are listed together. It is not useful to have infinite categories  More categories just makes more difficult the choice of which one to use. -- Last edit: 2011-07-23 12:11:51 |

God, these things are ugly. One of those cars I don't know why people decide to part with their hard-earned cash for. |
