I basically agree although lots of details don't fit. -- Last edit: 2011-06-28 23:17:39 |

If the car has been in Russia for years, they probably don't. Compare http://www.autoservice-kiel.de/Fahrzeugrestaurierung/Angebote.htm (third one down) and some of the Packards on the site. |

Yes, I know about that. Due to a lack of spare parts, they often did engine swaps, built custom body-parts and fit tractor-tires. |

They certainly did - but it's unlikely they would change major body parts around, such as modifying a front-hinged door to a suicide door. That said I'm baffled as to what it could be. Front end looks American, rear is definitely European styling and most likely German. Perhaps a coachbuilt American car - this was not an unusual practice in the 30s? Potentially off a 1935 Oldsmobile? |

It's too small and narrow for an US car. And the style is indeed most probable German. The front looks like Opel, the rest a bit Mercedes-ish. -- Last edit: 2011-06-29 23:41:47 |

Wanderer, maybe? |

I'd say this might well be based on a 35 Ford. Similar one in Russia, Glaser bodied: Link to "jalopyjournal.com" |
