Um, ya sure? I think it's still a 1949 VW Beetle. |

A Czech make but I read elsewhere it was popular with Hitler and the Nazi elite officer types. This may be a subtle jab at the ancestry of the ruling clan. It's sort of a common dig in some circles. The Rolls Royce Queen is surrounded in the royal box by a Mercedes Benz and a BMW too in the film if I recall. |

Good point, also, here's another possible hint: The King of Bohemia (Czech lands) ranked as Arch-Cupbearer of the good old Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. Well, his duties were normally performed only during coronations, as he was one of the seven almighty prince-electors. Another connection could be the Good Queen Anne (Anne of Bohemia was Queen of England as the first wife of King Richard II). Finally, the badge of The Prince of Wales and his motto "Ich Dien" (I serve) was adopted by Edward, the Black Prince, from the crest of John the Blind, Count of Luxembourg and King of Bohemia, killed at the Battle of Crécy. -- Last edit: 2012-01-27 16:15:11 |

To bring another example of AIR-COOLED car in front of the camera. It has NO RADIATOR. You folks should not work for intel BTW: during a production of this movie Tatra 87 won "2010 collectible car" award - whatever it means. |
