Does anyone know what happend to the two Ford WT9000's used in White Line Fever? I spoke with the stunt coordinator from the film a
few years ago. He told me that they used two W's for the film. Obviously, one was smashed to heck - the other went on to be
on various TV shows on occasion. One guy once posted that he thought the Blue Mule was trucking on I5 between LA and San Diego.

Does anyone know anything more?

hey bluemule75 i live alb nm. i have one of the mules, i built a exact replica of it, white line fever was my favorite movie as a kid and it still is. i lived in tucson when it was filmed the crashed one went to peterson truck salvage where my father and i went once or twice a month to get parts for his old 50 s petes s he was still running at the time. i watched it disapear one piece at a time, i pleaded with my father too buy it for me but its ransom was too high as a five year old it seemed too only need a front axle and a fly wheel housing. you can see pictures of my replica truck by looking up (famous cabovers) it is in the cabover appreceation society web site. the pictures were taken by a member and posted. the pictures were taken in weatherford i do have plans to complete it the frame is the wrong color and the fontaine fith wheel is to be replaced with a holland it only has 280k original miles i am as we speak completing a bj and the bear truck as soon as my somebody shows me how to post pictures on the cabover apreciation society web site i will as for finding the actual truck let me know if you find out any info

I know the Vin number to the one Birdie drove that said the Brat on the door it was the White 1972 Ford WT-9000 If anyone wants to look it up then buy and make a blue out of that the Vin number is #66671214102311

I also know the truck at the dealer at the beginning of the movie was a 1973 Ford WT-9000 also it was the white one with the blue strip the vin number is #66671214102313, 2 vin numbers away for "the Brat" truck this truck said "Sum and new port" on the door above the blue strip this truck was scrapped in late 1983 because of technical difficulties and the problems it was giving it was well worn out during the movie and even in 83' this truck was also scrapped at Peterson's Salvage yard

These to WT-9000 Cabovers were powered by 350Hp Cat's with the same transmissions as all the other blue mule's but the 73' was a 10 Speed

I tried to find a number for Peterson truck salvage with no luck, I tried looking for a Transportation museum in Death Valley. If there is a 72 ford WT 9000 in a museum, I cant seem to find it. But I would like to! I have plans of building a replica Blue Mule, but I need to find a starting vehicle. I would like to have something from one of the movie trucks even the smallest part.

Hey gijoeman,

I was using information I go from Universal and Chris who has already built a blue mule replica Yeah, I think Peterson's Salvage is out of business and I think the I don't where the Musem is, I heard that from others web site which actually is not true I have all the information on all the Blue Mules used in the movie as well as the 2 White one which would be Birdie's truck "The brat truck" and the white one that Carrol Jo Hummer was looking at at the dealer ship before they painted the truck blue "in the movie"
I will be Editing my information on the truck on where they are Cause that information I have is straight from universal Studio's which the business is called Hollywood camp fires there's link called jackknife over the web site and the yard if you want to try look up the vin number to "The Brat" Truck that Birdie drove in the to see if it still exist for further help I wish you luck on finding a Ford WT-9000

Here's the final Info on the trucks used in the movie From What I hear there 5 Trucks used in the movie to Represent the Blue Mule

Truck #1 was a early model 1975 Ford WT-9000 it featured a NTC-400HP Cummins engine even thoug the movie was ment to be a 350HP this truck was one of the 2 trucks purchased new for the movie, Ford Motor Company Co. gave Universal studio's 2 Ford WT-9000's & 1 Ford W-9000 the 2 WT-9000's were to wreck & damage during filming and the W-9000 was to keep, Universal decided to steal all 3 trucks & bought 2 used Rigs to damage & wreck during filming, after filming Universal Studio's auctioned off 2 Trucks that were used in during the filming of White Line Fever this is one of the 2 trucks that was auctioned off this truck went to an trucking company in Seattle,WA, then paseed on to another owner operator in '94 where it still is today the owner operator & The state and o/o is unknown

Truck #2 was a late model 1974 Ford WT-9000 it was given to universal studio's as a left over, the truck had the same motor as Truck #1 from what I hear this was a back up truck for the main rig if anything were to ever happen happen to it it they used the trucks there were 2 original trucks & 3 stunts trucks the 2 original trucks were the 2 WT-9000's, during filming both Trucks #1 and this truck had mud flaps taken on and off, after filming neither truck were re-installed with mud flaps! after filming this was the second truck to be auctioned off this truck went was auctioned off to a Trucking company by the name of "Colorado Petrolum, Which is still in Business" there were located in Denver,CO they sold the truck back in '95 to some owner operator were it still is today smae Truck #1, The state and o/o is unknown, but i've heard a of cousin who owns Truck #1 also owns Truck #2

Truck #3 was a 1972 Ford W-9000 given for the movie by Ford Motor Company Co. this truck was a real big show truck before fillming Ford Motors had kept it for local truck shows for the W-Series models, Ford decided to give it to universal studio's, cause if were to go in the movie the value of it would go up very high & would make the Ford factory so much money, no one except Ford Motors Company Co. never owned the truck so there for it was kinda brand new, but it was used because io the year! the truck featured some kind of 430HP Dertoit Engine it was only used for one stunt in the movie where CJ Hummer avoids the Green truck in his lane and hits the wooden sign other wise than that is was used for regular filming, after filming it was kept until after 1985 Universal Studio's auctioned it off a owner operator then passed on to another owner operator in 1992 or 1993 then later passed on to another owner operator in 1998 or 1999 the truck is currently in NJ this truck was even on a brochure cover back in 1973 for the W-Series model

Truck #4 was a 1973 Ford W-9000 purchased by an owner operator brand new it was later sold ot universal studio's for the movie, and was used for most of the interror shots this truck was also stunt truck so after filming it was damaged so bad that it wasen't fixable the truck was scrapped in early winter/ spring of '76 the only modifications to do to this truck was to paint the cab the correct color "The cab was solid White before filming" and paint the frame the correct color the frame was balck before filming, but really all this truck needed after filming was a Fly wheel & front Axle

Truck #5 was a 1965 Ford W-1000 it was purchased from a trucking company that was in Vancouver,BC,Canada, although it was picked up at the petro in Seattle,WA the truck was only in 2 scene's during filming, in the snake in the cab & Final scene this truck was destroyed at the end of filming and was also scarpped right after filming back in '75 the truck had to have several modifications to be painted the right color it was Solid Orange before filming, they need to convert the truck from a dual stack truck into a single stack truck, both exhaust were taken off because they were rusted & rotted out they took the exhaust off of truck #4 and put it on to this truck notice the exhaust stack was a fated chrome, Truck #4 got a new exhaust stack for filming, they also had to paint the frame on this truck because it was black they had to convert the truck into a grill like the movie from a square grill "Look at the headlight brakets they were different aand after you should able to tell this truck was a W-1000" they also had to use some of kind of silver shiny paint to make the rims look like they were chrome, cause there actually Budd Rims

there's your info on the trucks used in the movie, hope you enjoy

the year of the truck on the forum should be listed as a 1975, cause it was Truck #1 in the big main photo

You mention several vin #s for a Ford W Series - they are not accurate Vin #s. The W Series vin #'2 are 11 digits in total. They either begin with an X or a Z.

This has been one of my favorite movies of all times, strange thing happened after I met my current girlfriend, we were talking about favorite movies and when I mentioned White line fever, she thought I was joking!, turns out she is the Nurse that wheels the wheelchair in to the room at the end of the movie! I have not yet found the truck, but now I have a different part of the movie, purely by chance!

I've seen a truck that looks just like this one in a salvage yard outside of Lamar, CO on the south side of US-50, near the scales. It caught my eye because it has Blue Mule painted on it. I don't have any other details on it. Best of luck with it.

I Hope this Helps onto how Many Blue Mule's there was for Filming, How they explained and how they used Every Unit During Filming, As you can see in my E-mail, even though there was a 1973 Unit in the movie, It was said to be the 1974 Unit in the Big Main Picture Up Above, This Info comes from Jack N Young, of which a friend of mine was talking to by e-mail about the movie for myself and others, But, I took out his E-mail and my friend's name out of respect to them, Jack N Young was the Location Manager on Set for the movie Movie White Line Fever, Here's a link to his Page on IMDB.Org
