1966 Birmingham plates - BMC placement? Does it have an argument with a skip somewhere in the film, as reported in magazine article? |

Same car in 'The Avengers': /vehicle_42731-Vanden-Plas-Princess-4-Litre-R-ADO66-1966.html For me along with the Rover P5 one of the great underrated sixties classics. -- Last edit: 2011-09-04 22:02:55 |

The 2 thumbs with the car-skip interface moment - is the wing the same colour? does the engine compartment contain an engine? |

I love this car - my dad had one in the late 70's (1966 model powder blue over grey)a class act |

Good question dsl about the engine. The inner wing should have the washer bottle and brake servo visible with the bonnet peeled back, but they are missing. Also the mysterious pipe squirting water doesn't resemble any pipe on my 4 Litre R! I suspect that the front wouldn't have collapsed in so far if an engine was present. |

This is absolutely a BMC supplied car, as designated by its 'OF' Birmingham registration number. So many of the villain's cars (and vans) in this film are BMC sourced and look for all intents like a brochure model range: Mini - regular and Cooper variants, Healey 3000, E Type (a very famous press car that subsequently had a huge shunt whilst being road tested), J4 Van, Gypsies, A110 and this VDP too. Only Stanley Baker substituted one of Crewe's finest... -- Last edit: 2021-10-22 15:52:50 |

interesting continuity error: After this car has hit the skip it can be seen parked undamaged during the car chase. |
