The GL500 is NOT sold in the United States and never has been. The US is not the center of the world, but it should be remembered that a lot of things automotive market-wise are applied differently there as opposed to Europe. Since the 2006 introduction of the 5.5L V8, all US-spec models have started using the numbering X550/XX550/XXX550. The GL, W211.5 E-Klasse, and W221 S-Klasse were first to apply it. |
