I guess it is a Buick |

Yeah, between that front end, and the ventiports on the fenders, it looks like a mid-50's Buick. |

Very likely, probably something like this: /vehicle_38236-Buick-Super-Riviera-56-R-1956.html The experts will know exactly. |

1955 Buick Century 2dr. Riviera (model 66R) Like most drawings, it's a bit out of proportion and some details are wrong but otherwise, it looks like a 1955 Buick Century (not a 1956). The shape of the windshield and vent window look more like those of the Super/Roadmaster but the size of the body and other details such as the shape of the backglass and the side windows make it look more like a 1955 Century/Special. Since it has 4 portholes, it's not a Special (from 1955 to 1957, all Buicks had 4 portholes except the Special) From 1949 to 1954, only the Roadmaster had 4 portholes and when the portholes were reintroduced in 1960, only the Electra/Electra 225 had 4 portholes. |

Not a Riviera = it's not a hardtop but a 2-door sedan |

Yvon, This Century has to be a Riviera. The Century model wasn't available as a 2 door sedan in 1955, only the Special was. There were very few exceptions that were sold to the California Highway Patrol but they used bodies from the Special series to save weight. And also, before the 1963 Buick Riviera, the side windows had frames around them on all hardtops so when they were closed, they sometimes looked almost as thick as the posts on a sedan. Also note that there is no visible door window frame on this drawing, a hardtop with the front window down would look like this but not a sedan as the frame would still be visible. And this drawing isn't 100% accurate... The chrome strip that holds the hood ornament is WAY too large too (so could be the window frames), the vent windows look more like those of the Super or Roadmaster but the door handles are in the same location as those of the Special and Century models. The trim surrounding the vent windows should be chrome-plated even on a Special 2 door sedan. The wheels and tires are also way too small! And another thing that makes no sense is that this car is a 2 door taxi... |
