You may be right with 400E but I remember the 1958 one we owned in the 1960s - it was a van - had an 800 badge on the front which I always assumed meant it had a capacity of 8cwt. -- Last edit: 2011-04-11 11:12:47 |

The correct badging would have read 10/12 or 15 depending on the capacity of the van in cwt. The 800 sounds like an aftermarket addition, there was no 8cwt version. There has recently been a series of articles about these vans in Roadscene. The only possibility is 800 kg, but there is absolutely no question that the Ford model number was 400E. |

Thames '800' was used on export versions of the 400E.... http://www.simplyclassicsau.com/clubs/C153-FORD-THAMES-800-400E-REGISTER.html The scene is in the UK I guess so '800' is not used. |
