Had the TX4 grill. Continuity: When the girl gets out the Polo in front is gone to be replaced by a multi-coloured Peugeot 309. ![]() |

Interesting financial article in yesterday's Independent newspaper about Manganese Bronze, makers of LTI TX4. Bodies made in China by Geely, who have 20% stake in Manganese Bronze and shipped to Coventry for painting and assembly. UK demand has fallen dramatically since 2008, so has pursued foreign markets. US deal has collapsed, but successes are 400 taxis to Bahrain and 1000 to Azerbaijan. Franchise taxi businesses launched in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait and planned for France, Italy, Turkey and possibly South America. Possibly China as well with new low-cost version and even a normal saloon TX4. So we can expect lots of TX4s in strange places. |

Loads of the new Mercedes Vito taxis in Edinburgh now. That trend is being shown across the UK and is the main reason for the fall off in UK demand. I'm quite disappointed we haven't had a Mercedes Vito taxi on the base. I saw one somewhere but it was not visible enough to add. They have changed their name too. Now it is the London Taxi Company rather than LTI. |
