Rover were doomed when Thatcher sold them off to British Aerospace and killed the Honda collaboration without giving Honda a chance to bid for a share. BAe and then BMW ownerships never managed to achieve any comparable degree of stability. But Rover and MG cars in the 90s and early 00s were still decent products. |

And now they are back: Link to "www.whatcar.com" Towards the end Rovers were actually pretty undeserving of their reputation. The 75/ZT was a brilliant car and the Honda based cars were always reliable and solid and surprisingly good drives despite being old designs. |
