1984 Renault 25 GTS This car is wonderful! I love all the Renaults of the eighties designed by Robert Opron: 25, Fuego, 9 and 11 .... This 25 should be the same car that appears in this other scene ? /vehicle_380384-Renault-30-X27-1979.html I think it is another car, because the GTS like the one in this picture had wheels 185/70-14" with 4 bolts, but in the other picture looks like a V6 Injection with wheels 195/60-15" with 5 bolts. |

Agree. The former president Alfonsin have one similar here (was a Renault 25 TXE). A gift of François Miterrand in the 80's. http://autoblog.com.ar/2010/02/cien-autos-cool-45-renault-25/ |

And the other 25 have the right mirror, too. |

Is it possible that the level TXE was only for the Argentinian market ? In Europe did not exist. The trim level more equipped in Europe were GTX, V6 Injection and Turbo DX. |

UK had TXE as later edition of 2-litre alongside TX. |

I dont know. Here are very few units. All are private imports. Never official sold. |

Neither the R21, the R25 or the Safrane were ever sold in Norway, which sucks. Really. |

What? How is that even possible? |

I really don't have a clue why. To compare, the R16, R5, R20, R19 and all later models were sold here in large numbers. I've heard stories of these cars being imported though, but not officially sold. I've only seen one Safrane in Norway, back in 2008, it was parked outside the French embassy in Oslo and (of course) it had French plates. |

Here are the same case... never sold the Safrane and the R25 just few units, but never official sold. But the rest of the cars, except the Espace, yes. |

Everything you're saying is very interesting, I did not know that the big Renault of the eighties had not been sold in Norway. In fact, in 1999 I took a motorcycle trip in Norway, and I remember seeing very few Renault, but a lot of old Volvo, and japanese sedans. In Italy the first range of Renault 25, in 1984, was composed of TS, GTS, V6, TD, Turbo D and Turbo DX. Have not been sold TX and GTX versions with 2.2-liter engine, because due to the Italian tax system that penalized the cars over 2 liters, would have been out of business. These versions were than sold in Italy from May 1987, but with smaller 2-liter engine. |

I thought Finland was a small market area too. But we still had all models; eventhough very few were sold. Around 600 R25's, 3000 R21's and 150 Safrane's were sold. I have fond memories of R25 model because it was the first car I used daily. Very easy to drive and very light steering and pedal. |
