The Volvo on the thumbnail looks older - maybe one of the legendary "made for DDR" 244 DLS? |

Taillight cluster in main pic is typical for Swedish domestic market and USA-export. Did the "made for DDR" 244 have the same taillights? -- Last edit: 2011-03-01 19:59:55 |

@929V6: no, the specific DDR-DLS was only from the 1977 MY: /vehicle_130668-Volvo-244-1977.html |

I think the Volvo is parked at the green/white fuel pumps making it a non DDR-vehicle. |

The fuel pumps are from the DDR-"MINOL", but the clue is a little detail - the taped "DM"-sticker on them This means, that fuel from this pump was only available for D-Mark. |

This is a 1981+ Volvo 244 GL. It has the 1981 rear facelift (can it be called a facelift if referring to the rear end?) and the 1980+ badge. The GL is recognized because it's in gold compare with aluminium for the DL spec. The GLE and Turbo models didn't have 244 in the badge. Also the D6 (VW/Audi 6 cylinder Diesel) had gold badges, but is eliminated as the L in GL is just visible. -- Last edit: 2011-03-05 11:37:09 |
