Looks like a bad replica of a BMW 328

If the chassis belongs to the wheels, something selfmade on base of a mid-size pre-war car. Adler maybe?

In the former home-town of Horch and Audi, there is just running an exhibition of cars, selfmade in the DDR: http://www.fahrzeugmuseum-chemnitz.de/

For sure this would belong to there, too: /vehicle_373228.html

One guy of my plate-collector-forum (who owns a "made for DDR" Citroen GSA) had contact to the seller. It took over 20 years, until it was ready built. The body is from 2mm-thick steel, the weight is 2 tons - and the DDR-dokuments are saysing, that it has a two-stroke-engine. So a really weird construction. It looks like a Porsche, but drives as an electric wheelchair

@130rapid: would this exhibition be interesting for you? I guess, you are living closer to Chemnitz than me.

This is a Fiat 1500 special coachbuilt in Bucharest in the 1930s. The car still exists and is in Canada.

I've done an English translation of the article, as literal as possible.

Says it was originally built in 1936.
