I think it's a 1700, but will need confirmation... btw should the origin be South Africa or Germany, built in ZA?

This one is listed as orign ZA: /vehicle_138928-Ranger-SS-1971.html as also filmed there.
The others as origin Belgium, except one "orign Belgium, built in Switzerland" /vehicles_make-Ranger.html (all scenes from Europe)

This looks Rekord [E] based - all the others are Rekord [D].

Sorry dsl, but "Rekord D based - all the others are Rekord C" would be correct ;)

P.S. Somewhere here we have such a Rekord D-based car, also with double round front lamps and also built in ZA, listed as a Chevrolet!

So, what do you expect? [:heink] Here, on a romping ground for eccentrics, nitpickers and smart alecks?

P.S. How great, not to be alone with these pecularities :D
P.S.II The sentence above is a quotation of my wife. She says something like that, when I try to explain her, what are the real important aspects of our discussions (notabene: the on topic-discussions).

In South Africa Rangers were only Rekord C based cars. The Rekord D version was marketed as a Chevrolet Commando (or Constantia ?)

This is what I went after:
Wikipedia on Opel Rekord D wrote Also called
Chevrolet Iran (IR)[3]
Shinjin Record (ROK)
Ranger 1700 (CH / ZA / B)
Ranger 1900 (CH / ZA / B)
Ranger 2500 (CH / ZA / B)

 Though hardly thinking, I cannot remember its name, but I'm 100% sure, that we have one here, definetely a South African made Rekord D-based derivate, named Chevrolet. And it had a big engine, over 3 liters, and in the movie it was smashed by a tank. Unfortunately I cannot remember the movie-name, I think, it was filmed in ZA, but set in annother African country.

@electra225: No, the Kommando and Constantia were Holden-based models.
