Sunbeam Rapier - S3 I think (am away from my books for a few days). Looks UK plates and RHD? -- Last edit: 2011-02-17 21:10:30 |

With this paint scheme and no tailfins: 1956-1959 S1. |

Btw, we have some Audax Rapiers listed as sedan, some as coupé... What would be the most appropriate? |

Agree S1 - but it took a second look to see the 2-tone paint instead of a coloured side flash. As for coupe or saloon - Audax Rapiers never had B-pillar so would normally be coupe but..... the roof is not coupe (in the literal use of the word) with 2 full seats and headroom in rear. Roof was slightly lower than other Audaxes (in same way Sceptre Mk1 was lower than Super Minx/Vogue) but for me that's still not quite enough, so I vote saloon. Given that both cases can be argued, I'm not too bothered if it goes coupe - it's a policy decision more than a detailed assessment in the circumstances. |
