Do you mean the non-A1 Jeep M38 should be 1950 Willys? |

That is exactly what I mean. |

Pandora's Box for sure... technically if you call it WILLYS only the model should be "MC" as that was Willys' factory designation (and on the VIN plate as model). I would not suggest this. Rarely is a vehicle known to the public by its factory code. The US Military and everyone else around the world called this military Jeep the "M-38". Same for the Willys model "MD" or military Jeep "M-38A1", they were military Jeeps built by Willys. It is very difficult to remove "Jeep" from the vehicle designation although I don't think it actually appears on the vehicle? It is a "Jeep Product" built by Willys at the time. Later the Jeep Product was built by Kaiser, AMC, Chrysler etc...But it is certainly known as a Jeep. Perhaps the make is "Willys" and the model "Jeep M38"???? Others can spend more time on the research and comment. Complicated I know! |

Most were listed as Willys M38 so it was for regrouping them. Maybe it is not the best choice, but that's how a lot of these are listed here since some time; but that can always be changed if needed |
