2001 Metrocab II-series origin UK made for Russia (or built in Russia). |

Funny, I edited it to "unknown Metrocab" before validation, and someone edited it back to "unknown" -- Last edit: 2011-02-01 12:58:41 |

It's certainly a Series II Metrocab, but I haven't found any trace of Russian manufacture. I doubt if it's specifically made for Russia - LHD isn't thought to be a criterion for 'made for'. |

I thought so too but it being in Russia really threw me. If it's 2001 wouldn't be a TTT or at least a Series III? |

Google Translate: 'In late 1990 an assembly of English Metrocab II-series scheduled to begin in Moscow on Tushino engineering plant. But the project failed.' I have seen pictures of Metrocabs in Russia, but evidently they were imported. |

Yes. So LHD is not reason to sign it as "made for"? PS Production was failed b'coz of 1998 economical crizis in Russia. -- Last edit: 2011-02-01 21:07:09 |

This Metrocab II has been modified for left-sided driving, special for TV show "Taxi" on "TNT" channel. -- Last edit: 2011-02-02 16:03:56 |

Not for show. It was earlier in late 90's. Russian version of gameshow "Taxi" run only since 2005, i think. |

2000 by plate (I guess the 'MM' in the model field stands for Moscab Metrocab) |

Found a source stating that 120 were produced 1997-98 in Russia, but would like more confirmation of that info. Our 2000 car may have sat some time before registration. |
