(The '71 was similar): http://photo.netcarshow.com/Ford-Thunderbird_1970_photo_01.jpg Note how the T-bird has an entirely separate headlamp section (not part of the grille). Note also the center "nose" section begins closer to the middle of the front while in the photo'ed car, the center section starts to widen just inside the headlamp area.
