1955 Oldsmobile 98 DeLuxe Holiday Hardtop Sedan ( 88's had a small round logo rather than a script on the front fenders) |

– yes, but Holiday Sedan is an exception, it has the same ’Holiday’ script there as 98 does. The best way to tell them apart is to check the wheelbase; looking at the 1st thumbnail I’d go for a 88. http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/4/486/1041/38713020001_large.jpg http://www.futureclassicsnj.com/Cars/55oldsdside.jpg Also the lack of rocker panel moulding suggests a 88. |

Look close. You will see there IS rocker panel moulding. It's very thin. Therefore, this is not an 88. |

For the discussion: 1.- 98 Holiday Sedan 2.- Super 88 Holiday Sedan 3.- 88 Holiday Sedan To be honest, I can't see on 2nd thumbnail the rocker panel moulding you were talking about... -- Last edit: 2011-01-15 19:18:43 |

Indeed there is thin trim at the rocker panel, alright You can see the wheel arch at the front fender continues where the trim meets. |

You are right, there it is... which means that the car is a Super 88 (the second of Vilero's reference pics). Remember, it is a short wheelbase model. |

Also, thumbnail #1 appears to show the 88 style tailamps. |
