Ligier or so? It looks like one of these 45 km/h-cars. |

No-need license driver for their use. Are these curiosity permitted in other countries? |

Yes, since a few years you can buy them in Holland too. Earlier these were also allowed for disabled people, but nowadays everybody can buy and use them. |

Especially in Holland they are obviously getting popular. There you can see more than in Germany. @sixcyl: some are running (resp. creeping and blockading the strets ) in Germany, too, but until know I haven't found out, on which regulations their use is based/permitted. Here they have a 45 km/h-sticker on the back and the little moped-plates (only insurance-plates, no official registration-plates). For sure there is no relation to the ancient "Klasse IV"-drivers-license (a motor-bike-license, issued before 1950). This rule was dropped two years ago (as there were nearly no surviving holders left...) With that license you could drive every kind of vehicle, also cars, up to 250 ccm. So the reason for the different 250 ccm-reduced microcars back then. And the reason, why the manufacturing of Goggomobil-engines continued up to the 80ies. They were made for "pimping down" cars like the NSU Prinz 4, Fiat 500 or Fiat 126. -- Last edit: 2011-01-10 15:09:47 |
