If a Turbostar MAGIRUS existed, I would like to see a brochure or official datasheet. I believe the badges have been altered, as I have been unable to find any proof of the vehicle. |

I have a pic of such Iveco-Magirus TurboStar in 1992 trucks catalogue. From 3 TurboStars pics in Iveco-Magirus chapter only one has Magirus lettering. In 1992 it says TurboStars are produced only in Italy. So it was always like that and at least some of them were badged as Magirus for German market or in the 80's they were made in Germany too. In fact Germans were responsible for re-design of the Fiat cabine to Turbostar shape. Later Iveco slowly reduced production of trucks in Ulm. For example in 1989/1990 the production of PA series was finished in Germany and moved to Italy. -- Last edit: 2010-12-27 22:23:00 |

Well, Turbostar cab wasn't more than Club Four cab. http://www.magirusdeutz.co.uk/images/RA290-1000.jpg This one is geniune Magirus truck with same cab and Deutz BF8L413F engine. With period correct Magirus-IVECO badging. "Turbo" badge refers to turbocharged engine, not to model name. |

TurboStar cab wasn't the one of Club of 4, if I understood you correctly. "Club 4" was the smaller one, used also by the Saviem, DAF and Volvo. This one was originally of Fiat and due to cooperation also Unic (later was "given" also to other brands of Iveco group when it was formed). The cab in link is of the early 80's period. There is full Iveco lettering instead of Iveco group badge (rectangle). Such badge configuration didn't last long, year or two and then they have been swapped - Iveco went to the centre, Magirus (Fiat etc.) to the corner, well same like on main pic here. Models with Turbo badge (only) were produced till the end of this design - till early 90's. Here are pages from the, mentioned previously, 1992 catalogue. (Edit: pics lost due to external image hosting server problems) Some of these pics, due to badges, are a bit older than 1992 though. It is pic and not scan, but badges are visible I believe. -- Last edit: 2012-10-02 00:02:38 |

I'm sorry I'm late... Well, as far as I can understand, it wasn't true Magirus, just plain IVECO Turbostar with small Mgirus badge. Note that only two trucks on page with Turbostars have that badge. As I can remember, for some time IVECO trucks (and I mean IVECO trucks) were sold in Germany under Magirus name... |

What I want to say: if it was Turbostar, badged as IVECO Magirus to be sold in Germany, then I doubt, that we can put Cermany as country of origin. |
