The association with the Rockford files is - William Wiard owned the e-type he was the first owner of the car and the Director of the Rockford files Link to "en.wikipedia.org" The car is very much alive and well, no longer in California but still currently wearing the same tag, hope that helps! even if 7/10 years later!
