I just realized this scene is stock footage from the show, Friends: /vehicle_131327-Pontiac-LeMans-1989.html
I had a feeling it was since it would be very unusual to find a last gen. LeMans still surviving today. :p

I don't think that footage was original to Friends either. In the Friends capture, the name of the restaurant is blurred out to avoid the need to get copyright clearance, which would be odd if the footage were shot specially for the series. Second, the capture here is in high definition, which means that the original footage must be in a widescreen format. According to Wikipedia, Friends never made the jump to high definition, so it would not have filmed anything in widescreen: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friends_%28TV_series%29

The footage was used in a Friends episode from season five (1999-2000), but the cars seen suggest that it could date back to the late 1980s. Either way, it dates from before regular high definition broadcasts began. This in turn means that the source format must be widescreen film, so it more or less has to come from a feature film that we haven't got yet. :)

Apparently this bar also shows up in SyFy's Warehouse 13...

I guess it's a popular "anytown USA" bar!

I found it. It's stock footage. Three clips can be found at Getty Images.

Accroding to the Getty Images page, the footage is from the AM Stock-Cameo Film Library. The AM Stock-Cameo Film Library has many more clips of the bar, "Blue Lou's" in Pittsburgh.

It looks like all of the stock footage used for establishing shots is from there. Based on the cars in the clips, the footage appears to have been shot in the early 1990s. As Gag Hafrunt mentioned, the footage was shot on 35mm film. So, the footage can be used in SD (4:3) and HD (16:9) TV shows.

According to their "About Us" page (http://www.amstockcameo.com/aboutus.html), the library also contains clips from various TV and film productions.

I don't think it looks like a NJ tag, the blue is too deep. Blue Lou's is in Pittsburgh, and Iron City Beer is brewed in Pittsburgh, so it's more likely an older blue and gold Pennsylvania plate.

And it's rather unlikely, that the same white Toyota Camry is still parking behind it 10 years later. ;)
