It can be the same model, though I am not sure that it is the same vehicle.

It is a 4x4, (note the tow hooks) but it appears to have been wrecked before, the grille and headlights, are 94 up, where the park lights, and bumper guards are pre 93... hhmmmm. also note the absence of DRL's (Daytime Running Lamps) indicating 95 or older.

should be 1994 then because it doesn't have the 1992-1993 grille

Just to clear everything up Baube was right on this one. Wanted to clear up misconceptions on this thread too. The bumperettes were phased out mid-1994 as there are 1994s without bumperettes and some with. This is the case on the Blazer as well. No Tahoe ever came with the bumperettes from the factory on the front bumper.

On to the tow hooks. In the dealer brochure tow hooks were standard on K-Series but optional on C-Series SUVs. Just because they are present does not mean it is 4WD. If they are absent then we know it is NOT a K-Series(4WD) and must be a C-Series (unless heavily customized or removed for police work).

The wiper arms are indeed the older 1992-1994 style which indeed solidifies Baube's year. 1995-1996 have a driver's side airbag while the 1997-1999 have driver & pass.
[GMT410].

Edit: Noticed something else wrong. DRLs in the US are 1996+. Canada DRLs are 1990+.

i remember there was a way to turn them off ( specially on the earlier ones ) . i don't remember if it was an option or if it was done by some special companies but i remember reading this a long long time ago and was mainly done by Canadians that were frequently going in US

now.. where did i read this.. can't really remember but i know it was over 25 years ago...

now that some vehicles in US have them too, i don't think it is done anymore

K-2500 diesel models had the bumper guards all the way through 1999 as did K-1500 two-door Tahoes with the diesel. C-2500 diesel Suburbans might have as well, but I'm not sure.

On newer GM trucks with automatic headlights, you just turn the switch all the way to the left and it will cancel the DRLs (at least on American models). You have to do it each time you start the engine as it always reverts to having them on.

On my F-150 there is a box you can check or uncheck in the settings menu on the gauge cluster to have the DRLs either on or off. From what I've read from fellow F-150 owners in Canada, this isn't there since the DRLs are federally mandated in Canada.
