tv boy, for '58 Imperial the way to ID Crown from Custom (Commander57 told in some previous comment) is the little golden star just above of the 2nd. 'i' of Imperial side script. If you can get extra pictures of that part, the ID will be completed. This one looks lack of it but, you know, when a car it moves.. |

Sorry, that's apparently the only shot I kept of this car. |

BTW one of the episode's guest star bad guys is a pre-Spock Leonard Nimoy.![]() |

![]() Nimoy was featured in another Highway Patrol episode. (entitled "Hot Dust," 1957). He plays an unfortunate chap who becomes radioactive. |

re: the '58 Imperial, it's a Crown. The golden insignia that identifies the Crown series isn't a star, but a crown. And they can be seen above the side script, as described. But also below the script on the rear deck and centered atop each headlight hood. (BTW, the LeBaron series has its own side emblem, very different from the Crown and Custom, easily spotted) ![]() Here's the car as close up as I can get it on the approach. The crowns are small and it's possible to miss 'em. Can't tell for sure. ![]() Later, Nimoy's bad-guy boss gets out of the car and we get a better look. ![]() See the crown? I think I do. Imperial also placed crown emblems on the dash and inside the doors. That's the clincher. You'll have to click on the pix to enlarge. ![]() ![]() Here's a last shot after the aforementioned boss has been snuffed and Brod has Nimoy in cuffs. ![]() "Dun da-da-dun da-dun-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n!" -- Last edit: 2014-02-21 05:09:54 |
