The picture quality (even though this is from a DVD) isn't good enough to make out the model badge on the boot lid in the 1st thumbnail, looks like 3 numbers and a letter. |

Anyway, this is a 4-cylinder ponton model (front indicators on the rear of the front fender), so 180 or 190. The 190 had a chrome strip under the side windows and the C-pillar, so this must be a 180. It is a taxi and it seems to have a badge like "xxx x", so no doubt it'll be a 180 D. The vent windows in the front doors came in April 1958. Only thing that puzzles me is the fact that the badge is on the left of the trunk lid (like on Italian cars), not in the centre just under the MB-star. And the wheels are a bit too fancy. But in 1974 the car wasn't really new anymore. |
