Later than 1976, because of new overiders (all are plastic/rubber), previously were metal with rubber inserts. Year of this modification is unknown for me, like for now, though it was rather before (or in) 1979. Perhaps not in 1977 m.y., as car described in 1977 "Młody Technik" still had the old ones, but it was relation from SU, so maybe they had older car on the pics...
BTW. It is Bulgarian made.

Maybe not at every repair in nearly 30 years lifetime there were original parts replaced.

Sure, but we have to list them according to something... Interesting why front badge is placed in such way (too low)...

Has engine size plaque, so pre-1980.

I tend to 1978.

Yeah, we can go with 1978. In case of mistake, it will be just one year "forward or backward".

Edit! 2140/1500 tested in Poland in summer 1976 had plastic overriders. It could be that metal ones were used mainly on domestic market, or at least in early period 2140 maybe had more modern ones and 2138 metal ones, or metal ones were some sort of "intermediate" ;) , or summer 1976 was already early 1977 m.y. In this case I propose to change to 1977, as it will be more safe year.

Edit II. The return of Edit:
In BG names were 1500 or 1360: /vehicle_23005-Moskvitch-1500-2140-1976.html
